Boston Workshop with Frank Doorhof

Last Saturday I attended an amazing workshop with photographer Frank Doorhof, his wonderful wife Annewiek and Symbol Photo for hosting the event. I know Frank hates being called “famous” but he truly is inspiring and very down to earth. I learned so much from this wonderful experience. If you ever get the chance, take his workshop!

For the workshop, they booked three models and of course none of them showed up! Since I was the only female attendee, I was easily swayed to be the “model”. I didn’t anticipate being photographed so I dressed for comfort. It was a rainy, cold Boston day so I wore black leggings, rain boots, and an unfashionable rain coat. We made the most of what we had, and I was all we had. For the first half we photographed on the docks. It was rainy and cold, but I was a true model and didn’t complain (that much). Since I was modeling, I don’t have any photos on my camera of the experience. I do however have a few behind the scene photos from iPhone.

Frank should be sending me a few photographs from the session soon, so I’ll post them shortly.

Our next location was inside an abandoned factory. Brendan’s (Symbol Photo) wife was gracious enough to help model for our second location. She was waaaay better than me, and very photogenic! Here are a few behind the scene photographs at the factory.
