Evy & Khai: Marblehead/Swampscott Beach Session

I love these two so much! I attended college with Evy and while we had a few classes today, we weren’t exactly friends. After college we reunited and ended up working at the same company. Our relationship blossomed so quickly and I’m proud to say she’s one of my closest friends. Evy & Khai came as a packaged deal. I couldn’t be friends with Evy without Khai. In fact I always feel like a third wheel, but in a good way! They are dear friends and when I learned they got married (at city hall) my mind was racing with the fact that they never had a true wedding for me to photograph! I got over pretty quickly. I’m still smiling knowing they will be together forever :)

As a wedding gift, I offered to photograph the two of them. They never had wedding photos or engagement photos taken, so it was a great opportunity to be photographed. Most of their photos were snapshots taken at arm’s length, which are still adorable, but I wanted to give them something more professional. Their such a fun couple that we all knew the photos weren’t going to be ordinary. Please check out photos from our amazing session up in Marblehead and Swampscott Beach in Massachusetts.

Fashion Shoot: Shannon

I had a blast shooting with the beautiful Shannon. She was a trooper, I had her pose and look pretty all while bugs were crawling all over. We traveled to Lincoln, MA where I knew was secluded and would provide a beautiful backdrop for our shoot. We found a lovely area right off the side of the road. The folks around there were very nice, they thought we were lost or had car issues. I’m just glad no one called the cops on us. Technically, we were on public land… but you never know, the authorities never seem to like photographers. It all turned out well, and I’m extremely happy with the results.

Here are the photographs from my session with Shannon. I took this opportunity to test out different post editing techniques. Which one is your favorite?

All photographs were taken with the Helios 58mm f/2 lens and 580ex II speedlite coupled with the Photoflex xs octodome.

Hai & Will: Married

Back in July I shot one of the best weddings of the year! It wasn’t the dress or the location (which were both beautiful) that made the day unforgettable, but rather the people I interacted with. The bride and groom were amazing from the start. But I also had the pleasure of meeting and working with their friends and family. They made the day special and less stressful! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day.

I’m Vietnamese but I have never photographed a traditional Vietnamese tea wedding ceremony before. It was very laid back and casual, but also very intimate and emotional. The ceremony was held at Will’s parent’s house. After the ceremony and lunch (where I was encouraged to eat and enjoy the time with the family!) we headed to Elms Bank for some lovely wedding party and bride and groom only photographs. The day was hot and sunny, but we all made it through with flying colors. We were very fortunate to find shade because shooting in direct sunlight is just a nightmare.

Night time came and everyone was ready to party! Hai did a great job in decorating the restaurant. Her wedding theme of butterflies and cherry blossoms filled the room with beautiful colors and life.

Here are a few from their wedding, enjoy!
